Directions and Contact Form
In line with updated government guidance on recreational aviation (available here), the BGGC will resume limited operations from Sat 16th May. The club is open to members only, we regret that at this time we must ask visitors, including both the general public and visitors from other gliding clubs, to stay away.
Flying will be possible for suitably qualified and current club members, in single seaters or two-seat gliders where both pilots are from a the same household. We regret that general instructional flights, or trial flights, are not possible at this time.
Please note that the club office will only be open Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-4pm for the moment.

The airfield is situated in the Cotswolds on the B4066 Dursley to Stroud.
From junction 13 of the M5
Take the A419 towards Stroud, turn right at the first roundabout to Eastington. Go straight on for approx one mile, through Eastington village, till you reach a roundabout (by a Co-Op store). At Eastington roundabout turn left and follow the road (Frocester hill) through Frocester village and up a steep hill to a crossroads at the top of the hill. Turn left at the top of the hill onto the B4066. The entrance to the BGGC is 1 mile along the road on the right hand side. Do not take the right hand turn signed to Nympsfield Village - the airfield entrance is after this turn.
From Dursley or Stroud
The airfield is situated on the B4066 (signposted as "Scenic Route") between Stroud and Dursley. The entrance is on the South side of this road (right hand side if travelling from Dursley). The BGGC is about 1 mile from the turn off for Nympsfield village (do not follow the sign into Nympsfield village itself).
Visiting By Air ?
We welcome visiting powered aircraft but please be aware that a gliding airfield operation can appear quite different if you are not familiar with that environment. In addition our location means that in winds with a Southerly or Northerly component turbulence on approach can be severe. For these reasons we are strictly PPR, please call the office to check on conditions and get a briefing and read the briefing notes.
Visiting gliders are welcome any time - keep a good lookout as circuits can be on either side of the field. In general, if there is a cross-wind, make your circuit on the upwind side as heavy sink can be found on the downwind side.
The following GPS coordinates will get you a fix at approximately the BGGC clubhouse. They are provided in three commonly used formats suitable for SatNavs and GPS receivers
