Andy Davis master class 2020: 2nd – 9th May 2020

Our masterclass events help you achieve your highest goals and aspirations, lead you to new levels of confidence with knowledge delivered by world class pilots and coaches. Our approach helps you explore what you know, polish your skills and improve your performance levels. You will fly your own glider and also have the opportunity for some 2-seater flying to reinforce the coaching. The programme will be targeted at individual needs identifies at the outset of the course.

There will be briefings and debriefings each day and additional briefing sessions or lectures may be delivered if weather either delays or is unsuitable for flying.

Spaces are limited to 8 gliders, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis with a priority for club members for 4 of the spaces if booked before 25th February. The course cost will be £250 for the week (plus flying costs at standard rates and reciprocal membership for non-members).  A discretionary discount of £60 given to those BGGC members who qualify as Juniors (i.e. under 26 on the 1st day of the course) .

This event may, of course, be affected by the weather and unfortunately should the weather intervene no alternative options or dates will be provided This course does not include accommodation, if you need help here ask the office.

Note that cancellations within 7 days of commencement will incur the full course fee,  cancellation 7 days to one month from commencement will incur 50% of course fee and greater than one month a fixed fee of £25.

Coach for the week: Andy Davis MBE

Andy is a double world champion and highly experienced competitor at international level. He was standard class World Champion in 1993 and 2003 and reached the podium multiple times in World and Europeans championships as well as winning the FAI Sailplane Grand Prix in South Africa in 2012.

Domestically Andy has won too many national competitions for us to reliably count, but we think it’s 23!

Beyond competition success he has also contributed significantly in preparing the British team for international competition , notably as a long standing British junior team coach.  Andy also has experience as competition director for European and UK competitions. In his spare time Andy is also the current BGGC Chairman!
