Another busy Thursday with work progressing on the Big Grob trailer and the K8. The trailer is still nearly there with just a few tweaks required before the cladding goes back.
Kevin worked on the Fus of the K8, Ian H on the wings and the Gillett family sorted the tailplane & elevator. Mostly paperwork & reassembly needed before the Annual is complete. Hopefully we will be able to rig & measure deflections next weekend (21st / 22nd)
Friday (13th) evening unfortunately started with a genuine cable break, so we lost a few minutes, and the DG had been kidnapped to do trial lessons. We were still able to get all the P2s flown but it was pretty gloomy by the time hangar packing came around.
Graham is off to Sutton Bank in a couple of weeks so next Friday (20th) will be the last evening party of 2019. Many thanks to all those who have turned up to fly and even more to those who have helped out on the ground.
The maintenance season is about to re-start with the DG505 Annual / ARC / 6000 hr inspection and 20m tip overhaul. This is likely start sometime in October , probably under the watchful eye of Tim Macfad (dates to be confirmed when Tim gets back from hols). As in previous years it would be good if a group of volunteers are available to get the bulk of the Annual done over one or two weekends. If you’re willing to help out please contact me via the office
