A steady day instructing with a light southwesterly and some brief periods of local soaring, but only a lonely P70 being flown. Everyone got flown to a standstill by 15:30, so we packed up. Congratulations to Tom Bungard on his first (Glider) solo..!
Last week I supervised the team captain’s ab-initio class while he was away receiving a stern lecture from the head master, and missed out on the first XIV’s unexpected and spectacular away-day down south. Yesterday, thanks to Zeus, the fickle, capricious and impulsive weather god, I missed out on an even better day. The whole school turned out for a trip northward and returned with many tales of escape velocity climbs and fabulous x-country speeds. […]
